There are a lot of therapists out there (nutritional and otherwise) that understand that we have to give the brain what it needs to work properly.
Nicola Zanetti is a well-known and established nutritional therapist and naturopathic practitioner who reached out to me after reading my blog post about the use of Ketogenic Diets for OCD. He was particularly interested in my mention of the GABA/Glutamate imbalance seen in OCD that can be improved through the use of a ketogenic diet.
Nick Zanetti‘s special interest currently is in excoriation disorders (Dermatillomania). This is a mental health condition in which a person compulsively picks or scratches their skin, causing injuries or scarring. This condition falls under the category of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCDs).
Nicolas is passionate about this topic because of his work with clients and through his extensive research to write a book coming out. His upcoming book is specific to skin picking disorder and teaches people how to help achieve better neurotransmitter balance and brain health for this disorder through nutritional means. I wanted to be sure to share it with you because there is not a lot of information out there that people find helpful about this particular disorder.
You can book a consultation with him here.
You can follow him on Instagram here.
And you can be notified of his book by following him on Amazon here.
I get really excited when I meet other therapists who understand the link between mental illness and brain health!
I hope you found this interview helpful, encouraging, and validating. Nick Zanetti is a skin-picking disorder expert and understands the power of metabolic and other nutritional therapies as a potential treatment.
Because you have the right to know all of the ways that you can feel better.
